Chenko's story in brief
Chenko looks more like a street urchin or a runaway than an inventor, and she carries a blunderbuss the size of a small cannon that locals call a lightning stick. Everything she has, she built herself. She tests new work on rebels at the gates and says picking them off is fun. When people ask what happens if a gadget fails in a fight, she answers that her enemy might survive.
Her first two prototypes were expensive failures and her backers' money was running out. The third demonstration was saved by a rebel cavalry attack that arrived as she was about to fire, which gave the gun a live target. Two old flyers tell the rest. One advertises the weapon in breathless copy she paid two silver for and shook her head over. The other offers her services as a crafter of weapons, shields and armor at 3-6 G Street, and hangs in the royal museum today. She is Olive's only loyal customer, and in Howard's story she hammers a door into his famous shield. Weapon Upgrade and Defense Upgrade bring the workshop into her kit.
