Best pairings
- Forms a double infantry wall with Triton, both rolling their own damage-reduction procs.
- Vengeance's 1s stun holds enemies still long enough for Wee & Woo's AoE shells to land their full duration.
- Intimidation's enemy-Lethality cut protects squishier damage dealers like Ava from Lethality-scaled burst; the three are the documented Gen 7 trio.
Charles's story in brief
Charles was named heir in the nursery by an aging king who had waited a long time for a son. Tutors filled his days, he passed every lesson, and he hated all of it. He preferred his workshop, where he secretly built a piloted mech and planned to walk it out of the palace gates and never return.
The mech was finished in the same season a neighboring kingdom invaded, and the chaos gave him his exit. On the escape route he passed the tutor he resented most standing between enemy soldiers and fleeing civilians, the old butler swinging a weapon he had never trained with, and the shopkeeper who used to slip him sweets curled up on the ground. He told himself none of it was his to fix. Then the mech's fist sent enemy soldiers flying. Word spread that the prince had come, the defenders rallied, and the invaders were in retreat within half a day. He decided to stay a while longer. His exclusive Conquest skill is called Mechanic, and Iron Bodies and Great Justice fit the machine and the change of heart.

Frequently asked questions
Is Charles the safest Gen 7 investment?
Yes. He is the generation's defensive anchor, with sustain, damage reduction and cuts to enemy Lethality.
Charles or Eric for a defensive infantry pick?
Charles, both stun and cut incoming damage, but Charles cuts enemy Lethality instead of Attack, and Nimble Soul's chance to halve a hit gives him the extra edge.
