The six floating Mystic Trial zone islands from Kingshot, each holding its own arena: Coliseum, Forest of Life, Crystal Cave, Knowledge Nexus, Molten Fort and Radiant Spire

Proven Mystic Trial Setup in Kingshot

The Mystic Trial is the fairest fight in Kingshot: from Monday to Saturday everyone gets identical troops, and the only thing tested is how well you built one specific part of your account. In this guide I share the zone rotation, the formations I start from, and the trick that turns the whole event into a ten-second weekly claim.

Last updated 11 September 2026.

Six zones, one week

The trial rotates through six themed zones, each open on fixed days and each scoring a different system: the Coliseum (Monday and Tuesday) tests heroes and hero gear, Forest of Life and Crystal Cave (Wednesday and Thursday) test pets and governor charms, Knowledge Nexus and Molten Fort (Friday and Saturday) test research and governor gear, and Sunday's Radiant Spire counts everything, fought with your own troops. Progress resets Monday, and a missed day is gone for good.

Battles run on expedition stats with no troop losses, so the trial doubles as a free benchmark: treat Sunday's result as your weekly account check.

Kingshot Mystic Trial info panel describing the Crystal Cave and Knowledge Nexus zones, their open days and which stats take effect
The game states it directly, zone by zone: Crystal Cave opens Wednesday and Thursday, and only the stats of Governor Charms take effect here. Everything else you bring is dead weight for that one day.

Formations: start here, then change one thing

Ratios are infantry / cavalry / archers. The system column is the only part of your account that counts in that zone, so it tells you what to upgrade when a stage will not fall.

Zone Days System tested Start ratio
Coliseum Mon, Tue Heroes and hero gear 50 / 10 / 40
Forest of Life Wed, Thu Pets 50 / 15 / 35
Crystal Cave Wed, Thu Governor charms 60 / 20 / 20
Knowledge Nexus Fri, Sat Research 50 / 20 / 30
Molten Fort Fri, Sat Governor gear 60 / 15 / 25
Radiant Spire Sun Everything, with your own troops 50 / 15 / 35

After a loss, change exactly one ratio and compare how many enemies were left standing. If your front line collapses instantly, add infantry. If you survive but time out, shift five percent into your damage troops. And if no ratio change moves the needle, stop fiddling: the zone's tested system is your bottleneck, and that is where the time goes.

One expensive habit is worth unlearning right away. After editing a formation, leave the screen with the back arrow, because tapping Deploy burns one of your daily attempts.

Same troop count on both sides, level 10, identical health bars. The only variables left standing are the formation ratio and the three heroes lined up underneath each squad.

Zone by zone: what to upgrade when a stage will not fall

Each zone below starts with the rule the game itself prints for it. When the start ratio stalls, try the alternate once. If that loses by the same margin, the zone is asking for an upgrade to its own system, and more ratio testing only burns attempts.

Coliseum formation

In-game rule: Only Hero, Hero Gear, and Hero Exclusive Gear stats take effect in this zone.

Start at 50 / 10 / 40, alternate 55 / 15 / 30.

This is one of the two zones where you pick the heroes. Bring combat heroes with strong expedition skills and leave gathering and growth heroes at home. Stars, skills and gear count for more than hero level, and for a push it pays to move your best hero gear onto the heroes leading your biggest troop shares, then move it back. The tier list ranks who to build.

Forest of Life formation

In-game rule: Only Pet stats take effect in this zone. Pet Skills are active by default (active skill effects do not stack).

Start at 50 / 15 / 35, alternate 55 / 10 / 35.

The zone opens once the first pets arrive, around server day 54, and it reads your pet progress as a whole, so there is nothing to assign. Every pet carries six refinement stats from level 10 on, and they add up across pets, which means each refined pet raises your ceiling here. When two ratios lose by about the same margin, stop testing and level a pet. The pet guide has the order.

Crystal Cave formation

In-game rule: Only Governor Charm stats take effect in this zone.

Start at 60 / 20 / 20, alternate 65 / 15 / 20.

Crystal Cave unlocks at Town Center 25, together with governor charms. Make one affordable charm upgrade, retry the same stage, and judge the result by your charm progress, because the battle report never says which stat lost the fight. If your squad drops fast, reach the next charm breakpoint before you try unusual ratios. Charms tend to lag behind the rest of an account, and this is the zone where that shows. Charm Designs and Charm Guides are the materials.

Knowledge Nexus formation

In-game rule: Only Tech stats from the Academy and War Academy take effect in this zone.

Start at 50 / 20 / 30, alternate 55 / 15 / 30.

Combat research is what moves this zone. Keep one combat technology researching all week, and lean the ratio toward a troop type only once its research is clearly ahead of the other two.

Molten Fort formation

In-game rule: Only Governor Gear stats take effect in this zone.

Start at 60 / 15 / 25, alternate 65 / 15 / 20.

Molten Fort unlocks at Town Center 22 with governor gear. Shifting five to ten percent toward the troop type your gear boosts most is a fair test. When you upgrade, pick the piece that helps the troop type doing most of the work before you even out the rest.

Radiant Spire formation

In-game rule: Stats from Heroes, Hero Gear, Hero Exclusive Gear, Pets (skills take effect by default), Governor Charms, Tech, Truegold Tech, Governor Gear, Skins, Oasis Island, VIP Level, and Building Bonuses will all be effective in this zone.

Start at 50 / 15 / 35, alternate 55 / 10 / 35.

Sunday is fought with your own troops, and none of them get injured. Bring your best combat heroes and your highest tier troops, and finish any top tier training before Sunday starts. The only building stat that counts is the Command Center's deployment capacity. Use Friday and Saturday to fix the weakest of the five systems above, because this zone adds them all together.

Unlock Raid and stop replaying

Clear stage 10 of a zone once and that zone unlocks Raid: after every weekly reset you claim all previously cleared stages instantly, ten Trial Crystals per stage, no fighting. Many guides call them Misty Crystals; the official event text says Trial Crystals. Getting all six zones to stage 10 is the single most valuable push in this event, because from then on the trial is a weekly drive-by collection.

Kingshot View Progress screen showing Coliseum, Forest of Life and Crystal Cave stage progress with their Raid Rewards of Misty Crystals and chests
The screen says it outright: "The more stages you clear in each zone, the greater the raid rewards you will earn." Coliseum at 267/1500 is already worth 2,670 crystals a week, untouched by hand.

Spend the crystals with discipline: Truegold Dust first when it appears in the shop, Mithril when red gear checkpoints are close, and if neither is on offer, save. The shop refreshes weekly and filler purchases are how crystals die. Mithril joins the shop after Generation 2, around server day 40, and Truegold Dust once the War Academy opens, around day 220.

Frequently asked questions

When does the Mystic Trial unlock?

On the Monday of the fourth week after your server opens, once you have a level 19 Town Center and a level 1 Command Center. Some of the six zones gate later: Forest of Life needs pets, Molten Fort needs TC 22, Crystal Cave needs TC 25.

What is the best Crystal Cave formation?

Start at 60/20/20 infantry, cavalry, archers and try 65/15/20 if it stalls. Only governor charm stats count in the Crystal Cave, so once both ratios lose by a similar margin, the next stage needs a charm upgrade.

What is the best Forest of Life formation?

Start at 50/15/35 and try 55/10/35 if it stalls. Only pet stats count there, with pet skills active by default, so levelling and refining pets moves you further than any ratio change.

Why does my power not matter from Monday to Saturday?

Those zones hand everyone identical level 10 troops. The only thing being measured is the zone's system: your heroes in the Coliseum, pets in the Forest of Life, charms in the Crystal Cave, research in the Knowledge Nexus, governor gear in the Molten Fort.

What is the best formation?

There is no single one. Start from the per-zone ratios, 50/10/40 in the Coliseum through 60/20/20 in the Crystal Cave, and change one number at a time. If nothing helps, the bottleneck is the tested system, not your formation.

What should I buy in the trial shop?

Truegold Dust the moment it appears, Mithril when you are close to gear checkpoints, and save your crystals if neither is offered. The filler items are not worth the currency.
