Best pairings

  • His Talent, Born Leader, keeps buffing your garrison's Lethality and Health even when he isn't in the active lineup, so he never competes for a squad slot the way other heroes do.
  • Shares the always-on Talent mechanic with Helga (Power of the Deer), so building both stacks a permanent buff across the whole garrison.

Amadeus's story in brief

Amadeus grew up in the Unjust League, an outlaw band whose leader calls himself Robin Hood and empties noble coffers for a living. His adoptive father took him along on raids as a boy. He fights with two swords, says little, and carries a bounty large enough that Jabel blocked his path when he walked through the town gate in daylight. The town let him stay. He paid for everything promptly and in full, and began to wonder whether a fair place could be built there.

Zoe was raised in the same League, and her story names him as the one who has known her longest. Quinn reads Jabel's constant needling of Amadeus as courtship, and Seth writes the whole exchange into his diary. The two swords show in Combo Slash, Arcane Swordship and Way of the Blade, and Unrighteous Strike points back at the League that raised him.

Frequently asked questions

Is Amadeus worth building past Gen 1?

Yes, he's the one Gen 1 hero worth keeping. Double Parry cuts his own damage taken by up to 30%, and Born Leader adds up to 15% Lethality and Health for every deployed soldier, active even when he isn't in your lineup.

Does Amadeus need to be in my active squad to help?

No. Born Leader is always active, so upgrading him pays off across your whole roster regardless of who is fighting.
