Gear
Kingshot Satin
Satin is the second cloth material for Governor Gear, consumed alongside Gilded Threads on every upgrade step.
Hoard it
Satin is the second half of every Governor Gear upgrade. Each step consumes a set amount of Satin and a set amount of Gilded Threads, and the upgrade only completes when both are covered. On its own Satin does nothing.
Most players end up with more Satin than Threads, which turns Satin into the material you are waiting to use rather than the one you are short of. That is still worth knowing, because a full Satin pile can trick you into queuing an upgrade the Threads pile cannot finish.
Sources are the same as for Threads: event shops, Hall of Governors rewards and governor gear packs.
Save it or spend it?
Hoard it, and count it against your Gilded Threads rather than on its own.
Hold it for:
- Hall of Governors
- Steel Edge
Satin per Governor Gear tier
One piece of Governor Gear climbs 58 steps from Green to Red T6, and every step costs Satin. The table adds the steps up per tier. A full set has six pieces, so it costs six times these amounts.
| Tier | Steps | Satin per step | Satin for the tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Green | 2 | 1,500 to 3,800 | 5,300 |
| Blue | 4 | 1,000 to 9,700 | 18,700 |
| Purple | 4 | 1,500 to 8,000 | 17,500 |
| Purple T1 | 4 | 10,000 to 15,000 | 49,000 |
| Gold | 4 | 22,000 to 26,000 | 96,000 |
| Gold T1 | 4 | 28,000 to 35,000 | 125,000 |
| Gold T2 | 4 | 38,000 to 48,000 | 174,000 |
| Gold T3 | 4 | 60,000 to 90,000 | 300,000 |
| Red | 4 | 108,000 to 128,000 | 471,000 |
| Red T1 | 4 | 154,000 to 183,000 | 673,000 |
| Red T2 | 4 | 220,000 to 264,000 | 964,000 |
| Red T3 | 4 | 288,000 to 333,000 | 1,240,000 |
| Red T4 | 3 of 4 | 384,000 to 423,000 | 1,210,000 |
| Red T5 | 4 | 451,000 to 535,000 | 1,972,000 |
| Red T6 | 4 | 548,000 to 599,000 | 2,294,000 |
| All confirmed steps | 57 | 9,609,500 |
One step in Red T4 is left out, because the three databases each list a different cost for it.

When to spend it, by server age
Early game
Nothing to spend it on yet. Let the Satin from early events accumulate.
Mid game
When the second Hall of Governors window opens Governor Gear scoring, check Satin against Threads and upgrade the piece both piles can finish in one session.
Late game
If Satin keeps outrunning Threads, spend shop currency on Threads and let Satin ride. The pair only moves as fast as the smaller pile.
Tips and mistakes
Worth knowing
- Your Governor Gear budget is whichever cloth material you have less of.
Mistakes people make
- Planning an upgrade off the larger pile and stalling halfway.
