Best pairings
- Hammer of Justice's stun chance and Veterancy's stacking Defense let him anchor the front while ranged heroes like Petra or Marlin stay out of range.
- Conviction shields your side while Jaeger's Rumormonger punishes theirs, and the two effects stack.
- As the Gen 3 tank alongside Petra, Jaeger and Marlin, he's the piece that lets the other three's damage and control kits survive long enough to go off.
Eric's story in brief
Eric was a paladin of the Ecclesia known as The Pious One, and his job was collecting the tithe. It stood at ten percent, and he took it by force when he had to, sometimes by putting his hammer through a storehouse door. His last assignment sent him to a town the Ecclesia described as prosperous. He found shacks, disease, bandit raids and a failed harvest, and he took as little as he could.
The Ecclesia answered that so little grain was not worth hauling and ordered him to burn it. Eric stopped where he was. In that town he met Hilde, who was handing out food, and learned that her parents had sold her to the Ecclesia as a child because they could not pay their own tithe. He shut himself away for a day and came out no longer a Paladin of the Light. He calls himself a dark hammer, made for breaking chains. Hammer of Justice, Holy Warrior and Conviction keep the paladin in his skill list.

Frequently asked questions
What does Eric do in a comp?
Durable hybrid tank, Ground Shock and Hammer of Justice (30% stun chance) deal damage, Veterancy stacks Defense every time he's hit, and his Expedition kit reduces incoming damage and pads squad Health.
Is Eric still worth using once Charles is available?
He becomes a garrison core piece rather than a permanent Arena starter, Charles replaces him from Gen 7, cutting enemy Lethality instead of Attack.
